partypoker has once again upped the ante when it comes to its online poker tournament offering by announcing a staggering $35 million will be guaranteed during the latest edition of its Powerfest series.

Powerfest launched in February 2016 where it has $5 million worth of guaranteed prize pools. When partypoker ran another edition of Powerfest in May 2016, the total guarantees increased to $7.8 million. In August of the same year, partypoker upper the guarantees to $10 million, before increasing them to $11 million in January 2017.

When Powerfest last run, in May 2017, $20 million was guaranteed and more than $27 million was paid out across 301 events.

With $35 million on the line when the series returns in September, this latest Powerfest is the largest and most ambitious series that partypoker has run for a long time and shows the increased confidence in the long-running brand.

Although the full schedule is yet to be announced, partypoker promises there will be a wide range of buy-ins available from $5.50 to $530 to give players of all bankrolls the chance to win a potentially life changing sum of money.

There will be 12 Championship events taking place in September, including several multi-phase tournaments that play much like a major live event except they take place online. Players can buy into the various Phase 1s and try to progress to the final or buy into the final direct and take a shot at a big payday.

One event that is sure to capture the imagination of the partypoker players is the return of the $25,500 Super High Roller event. Last time out, this Super High Roller attracted 129 entries and saw the $2 million guarantee blown out of the water by $1,225,000. When the Super High Roller returns on Sep. 19, it will be a two-day event and will boast of a $3 million guaranteed prize pool.

Rounding off what looks to be a superb series are four Main Events. All four of these tournaments take place on Sep. 24 at 7:00 p.m. BST and have buy-ins of $11, $55, $215 and $1,050 and combined guarantees of $2.7 million.

Patrick Leonard, the partypoker ambassador, had this to say about the Powerfest series.

“I remember playing Powerfest at the start of the year and it was great to play some ‘pure’ poker. No gimmicks, just good structured tournaments. In May everything exploded, it was pure poker again but super-sized with insane guarantees and bigger buy-ins than ever before. I got an email this week and saw the schedule for this series in September, I helped make a couple of tweaks and I think it’s without doubt the best schedule partypoker has ever had. Bigger buy-ins, bigger guarantees, 2 day tournaments and the software will be improved making it easier for players to find the right tournaments and their experience will be better than ever before on the tables. I’ll be playing every day and cannot wait.”
