Ole “wizowizo” Schemion has added his name to the WPT Champions Cup after winning the WPT European Championship Main Event earlier this week.

The €3,300 buy-in WPT European Championship Main Event was the first televised WPT event in Europe in five years. The €1 million guaranteed prize pool Main Event attracted a total of 339 players and it was played at Casino Spielbank Berlin in Germany.

In the heads-up play Schemion defeated Michael Mrakes, who couldn’t really put up a fight against the 25-year-old German pro. In the last hand, severely short-stacked Mrakes shoved with a flush draw against Schemion’s top pair. Mrakes failed to hit his remaining outs, giving Schemion his career’s first WPT title and over €218,000 in prize money.

After this win, Schemion now sits 3rd ($13,8 million in total cashes) on Germany’s all-time tournament money list with his biggest cash dating back to 2016, when he won the EPT Monte Carlo €100,000 buy-in Super High Roller for nearly €1,6 million.
