While it’s not been a vintage year for high stakes big-bet games over at PokerStars, there have still been plenty of six-figure pots won and lost in the heat of battle. It will not come as a huge suprise to learn that all five of 2017’s biggest pots were played at the $200/$400 PLO tables, and it will likely be equally as little surprise that a certain Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom featured in all five. So without any further ado check out this year’s biggest pots in full below.

5) $177,822 – 25th July, Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov vs Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom – $200/$400 PLO

The first pot on our list has got to go down as the biggest cooler of the year and one that was impossible to get away from. Isildur1 flops top set (Queens) against Trueteller’s flopped bottom set (deuces). The river gives Isildur1 Queens full of 2’s and he goes for maximum value, only to discover that Trueteller had rivered quad deuces to take this $177.8k pot

4) $182,510 – 4th July, Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom vs RaulGonzales – $200/$400 PLO

This pot came during an epic near 2,000 hand session at the PLO tables between Isildur1 and RaulGonzales in early July which ended in a $91k win for RaulGonzales. However, Isildur1 did manage to bag the biggest pot of the session (and his biggest of the year) during the match.

It’s another cooler, although this time Isildur1 manages to take the pot. Isildur1 flops top set (Aces) against RaulGonzales middle set (8’s). All the money goes in on the turn when RaulGonzales raises Isildur1 all in. This time there is no miracle card to deny Isildur1 as he picks up this $182,510 pot.

3) $194,335 – 26th July, BERRI SWEET vs Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom – $200/$400 PLO

All the three remaining pots on the list took place on the same day, a day when BERRI SWEET enjoyed his biggest win of the year. In total he won $425,049 after big wins over Isildur1 at the $200/$400 PLO tables.

BERRI SWEET flops middle set (7’s) and bets on every street with Isildur1 happy to check call all the way to the river where BERRI improved to 7s full of 10’s. Unfortunately Blom’s hand is mucked so we’ll never know what he was calling with, but considering the last call cost him over $62k its possible he either had a smaller full house or perhaps an unfortunate rivered flush.

2) $200,514 – 26th July, Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov vs Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom

This is another huge pot Isildur1 lost on 26th July, although this one was to Russian pro Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov, although in fact Isildur1 ended up in profit from this particular game – a profit which would have been considerably larger had he not lost this pot.

This is the second pot on the list in which Isildur1 suffers a sick cooler at that hands of Trueteller. Isildur1 looks like a lock for a huge pot when the flop of AA4 makes him Aces full of 4’s. As Trueteller has the case Ace and some big overcards he is clearly going nowhere. Once again the river delivers his salvation as a Jack on the river gives Trueteller a higher full house and he’s able to take down this +$200k pot

1) $213,261 – 26th July, BERRI SWEET vs Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom – $200/$400 PLO

The biggest pot at PokerStars in 2017 took place late in the day on 26th July, a day when BERRI SWEET had already been crushing it vs Isildur1 at the PLO tables. This final pot puts his table stack well over the $400k mark along with his eventual daily profit.

Although BERRI SWEET is always the favourite in this pot he is only marginally ahead in equity. Both players flop a good flush draw with Isildur1 flopping the 2nd nut flush draw to BERRI SWEET’s nut-flush draw. Isildur1 is slightly ahead on the flop with middle-pair to BERRI’s bottom pair. All the money goes in on the flop and BERRI is able to scoop both runs of the board, making a flush on the first run and hitting trip 6’s on the second to take the entire $213,261 pot.
