Sunday Briefing: Tom Middleton Wins the Sunday Starter

Tom “hitthehole” Middleton may not put in as much volume as some online poker tournament grinders, but he showed he still has what it takes to rub shoulders with the best of them when he won the $109 Sunday Starter at PokerStars.

Middleton, the former European Poker Tour Barcelona champion, outlasted $342 opponents in the $109 buy-in tournament to secure a $6,364 payout.

This was not the only Union Jack displayed next to a first-place finish because UK-based Greek pro “vasilikos7” triumphed over 5,814 opponents in this week’s $215 Sunday Million, a remarkable finish that saw $157,025 added to their bankroll.

Two Brits and one Irish player also navigated their way to the final table of the Sunday Million.

“TheMottoYOLO” finished in ninth-place for $9,236, Ross “RLOG” Loggie netted $26,725 by finishing sixth and Ireland’s “TightAsULike” secured a $77,329 score by finishing in third-place.

Some of the other notable scores stemming from PokerStars tournaments include:

Beresford Cleans Up at partypoker

There was plenty to shout about over at partypoker too. First, Conor “ADRIEN_BRODY” Beresford finished second in the $2,600 Sunday Super High Roller: $200K Gtd for a $39,000 score, the same tournament that Patrick “Patrick_Leonard” Leonard finished ninth in for $8,000.

Beresford also finished sixth in the $530 Sunday BIG Bounty Hunter High Roller: $250K Gtd for a combined score of $6,350.

Team partypoker’s Roberto “WelshWizard” Romanello also had a brace of decent scores. The first was a $9,000 haul for finishing third in the $530 Sunday Warm Up: $75K Gtd [Mix-Max] with the second being a $3,702 win for finishing ninth in the $1,050 Sunday Main Event High Roller: $200K Gtd.

Over at 888poker, Paul “Senta99” Senter was the runner-up in the $100,000 Sunday Mega Deep, a result that saw the popular pro turn $1,050 into $15,447.
