UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Ben Jones At An All-Time High

Ben “jenbizzle” Jones has reached an all-time high of 24th in the world for online poker tournament play, according to the latest update from our friends at PocketFives.com.

Jones has been in hot for recently and while he remains in fifth place in the United Kingdom’s standings, his 24th place on the global leaderboard is his best ever ranking. The Cheshire-based grinder won $11,153 after finishing second in the PokerStars $215 Fast Friday and followed that up with an impressive victory in the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up, also at PokerStars for $49,819.

Fourth-placedJonathan “proudflop” Proudfoot was another player adding a five-figure score to his profile, one worth more than $15,000. This was Proudfoot’s prize for winning the $1,050 Daily Cooldown PKO at PokerStars. He also secured a $43,193 prize but this came too late to be added to his account.

One of our five players to watch in 2019, Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks, helped himself to $17,460 by winning the PokerStars $109 Mini Super Tuesday. Brooks now only needs another $6,000 in cashes to break through the $3 million barrier, which is a fantastic achievement in its own right.

Chris “Moorman1” Moorman has been busy building a war chest for the WSOP in the summer by grinding in Nevada. Moorman banked several large scores during the past week, including a $12,136 prize for finishing second in the $50,000 Monthly Sunday on the WSOP.NV site before collecting $9,568 by winning the HS Wednesday at Americas Cardroom.

Leeds United fan Jamie “EzGame89” O’Connor consoled himself with almost $20,000 from two tournaments after his beloved football team missed out on automatic promotion. O’Connor was the runner-up in the partypoker Sunday Clasico for $9,525 and a couple of day later he locked up $10,195 by taking down the Deepstack: $50K Gtd, also at partypoker.

Shout out too to Scott “Aggro Santos” Margerson who netted $47,930 by triumphing in the PokerStars $2,100 Sunday High Roller and to Henri “Buehlero” Buhler who returned to the UK top 20 this week and is rapidly closing in on $1 million in online poker tournament winnings.

Massive Score For Dan Wilson

Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer was busy grinding at the EPT Monte Carlo festival before heading to Montenegro for the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series so didn’t have much time to grind online, but former Ireland number one Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson did and with some spectacular results.

Wilson finished third in the PokerStars $530 Bounty Builder High Roller for more than $25,000 when bounties were taken into consideration. Wilson also managed several four-figure scores and is now only 487 points behind second-placed Ronan “Sw33ney” Sweeney.

High volume grinder Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas took down two tournaments to pad his bankroll. $4,869 was awarded to Geleziunas when he triumphed in the Big $22 with an additional $12,593 going to him when he won the partypoker Sunday Bounty Hunter: $20K Gtd.

Also in the five-figure score club was “Rowniwn” courtesy of a runner-up finish in the PokerStars $55 Sunday Marathon that was worth $10,163, while Sven “SvenCalls” McDermott won the $215 Saturday Scuffle at PokerStars and the Gladiator II at partypoker for more than $10,000 combined.
