The 1,758-strong field created a £263,000 prize pool that was shared among the top 159 finishers. Those who navigated their way to the nine-handed final table each won a £1,100 WSOP-C UK Main Event seat while anyone who qualified for the event online at partypoker were entered into a last longer competition where the last player standing won a $12,000 package to the MILLIONS South America Main Event.

Eusebiu Chirita was the unfortunate soul who burst the money bubble, crashing out in 160th place to be the last player to go home empty-handed. Chirita’s exit paved the way for the likes of Guy Taylor, Chris Fox, Jonty Willis, Neil Slade, Michael Fletcher, Dewi James, Sunil Mistri, Richard King, and Ben Spraggons to receive some prize money for their effort.

The nine finalists locked up £3,000 in cash plus the £1,100 WSOP-C UK Main Event seat.

Limahl Arrand was the final table’s first casualty and he was joined on the rail as a spectator by Shuaida Cheng, Chi Kin Thomas Kong, Mitch Johnson and Rupinder Bedi, the latter being the first player to secure a five-figure score.

Ryan Armitt busted in fourth-place before the exit of Jean-Emmanuel Lhuillier in third-place sent the tournament into the heads-up stage.

David Johnson and Ashraf fought tooth and nail for the victory, but it was Ashraf who emerged victorious after the dust had settled. This resigned Johnson to a £30,000 cash prize and left Ashraf to bank the £47,500, a £1,100 World Series of Poker Circuit UK Main Event seat and a $12,000 package to the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS South America Main Event.

Ashraf is a regular at DTD and is one of the biggest winners at the Nottingham casino. Ashraf’s first victory at DTD was back in 2008 when he took down an £85 buy-in tournament for £2,100. His biggest haul weighed in at £93,113, his reward for winning the £1,090 Monte Carlo event in Dec. 2009.
